My chief interest is in stylised figurative work involving the study of movement and body language in human and horse form.
I have worked in a variety of media, but my favourite is wax which is then cast in bronze or bronze resin.
My work varies from near life-size pieces suitable for a garden setting to small decorative pieces.
I am a member of The Bucks Art Society and exhibit with them bi-annually. I take part in The Bucks Visual Image Group's Open Studios, exhibiting in my own home every summer.
Having initially studied photography, my interest in painting and figure drawing developed into a great love of sculpture. I studied at the Open College of Art and then joined a sculpture workshop at Amersham College, later working with a group of sculptors in Bicester.
I find that my style of figurative work is always developing. I enjoy exploring the lines in the figure or drapery to create an atmosphere of elegance or movement. I also enjoy working on groups of figures or animals and find that the challenge of relating the parts to each other can be very rewarding.
